Branch Announcement, 18th November 2021

Following recent Government announcements concerning the Covid-19 pandemic we have taken the decision to move our December talk to Zoom and cancel the December outing to the West Pier, Dun Laoghaire. Should any changes be made to events currently planned for the new year they will be posted here when known.

Our December 'indoor' talk will now be presented as a Webinar using Zoom. The link will be circulated via the branch's mailing list. If you would like to be added please email secretary@southdublinbirds.com with your contact details.

December 2021

Online Talk

Date & time: Tuesday, 30th November at 8pm.
Location: The Graduate Pub, Rochestown Avenue.
Title: Garden Bird Survey.
Speaker: Brian Burke.
Details: Brian, who is Scientific Officer with BirdWatch Ireland's Surveys & Monitoring Team, will tell us about the methods and results of the Garden Bird Survey.

Outdoor Meeting - Cancelled

Date & time to meet: Sunday, 5th December at 11am.
Outing to: West Pier, Dun Laoghaire Harbour.
Extra information: Meet in the 'Windsurfer's' Carpark adjacent to the water pumping station on the Dublin Bay side of the West Pier. For more information and a map click HERE. Indoor Meeting

Title: Wildlife on the Wireless.
Speaker: Terry Flanagan.
Details: Terry will talk about his experiences as a 'Mooney Goes Wild' reporter for over 20 years.

Outdoor Meeting

Date & time to meet: Sunday, 16th January at 11am.
Outing to: Cabinteely Park.

February 2022

Indoor Meeting

Date & time: Tuesday, 1st February at 8pm.
Title: Portrane Little Tern Project.
Speaker: Tom Kavanagh from the Fingal Branch.

Outdoor Meeting

Date & time to meet: Sunday, 6th February at 11am.
Outing to: Bird Watch Ireland's East Coast Nature Reserve.
Extra information: We are returning to the ECNR for the first time since March 2014. For more information on the Reserve click HERE. Meet at the entrance to the reserve, which is at Flag B on the map.
